Caffe Diemme – GLI Speciali Panama Coffee Review
Caffe Diemme - GLI Speciali Panama
- Strong floral and fruity aroma
- Excellent flavor balance
- Sweet acidity with chocolate finish
- Not currently available in the U.S.
Another delicious coffee came to my doorstep from Caffe Diemme, this one from Panama.
Allegedly, it’s another Gesha, but the information on the bag was a little bit misleading in this regard, as the labeled “origin” was Gesha, while the labeled variety was “arabica.”
Since arabica refers to an entire species of coffee, one which includes hundreds, if not thousands of varieties, this was certainly confusing to me.
In any case, it had very similar elements to the previous Geisha I received from Caffe Diemme, full of floral notes in both the body and the aroma.
The aftertaste was soupy, with traces of peanut. Also, unlike the previous coffees I reviewed from Caffe Diemme, it was a little bit less forgiving. I really over-extracted it through my first V60 brew, and as AeroPress, it only shined at the manufacturer-recommended 175˚F.
