Cold Brew Coffee Review: Secret Squirrel Cold Brew
A new cold brew coffee option sprung up at my local grocery store this week, so as usual, I knew I had to try it. And boy was I glad that I picked this one up.
About Secret Squirrel
I had never heard of these guys before seeing their cold brew at the store. Fortunately, they have a great website that was able to fill me in quickly.
Secret Squirrel is family-owned and based in LA. They started selling their cold brew coffee at a local farmers market and now sell it in specialty grocery stores across the country.
The coffee they use is organic. It's brewed over an 18-24 hour period (I'm not sure why it's a range?) and double filtered.
At the time of writing, they offer 4 different cold brews that are beautifully simple in terms of their list of ingredients. I can't wait to try all of them after giving the straight cold brew a taste.
The 12 oz. Cold Brew
I loved it.
I've tried a lot of different packaged/bottled cold brews now and this is definitely one of my favorites.
Incredibly smooth and sweet. No sediment. Zero astringency. There was really nothing to dislike about this cold brew.
So If You See a Little Squirrel at the Grocery Store…
Don't ignore it. Secret Squirrel is one of those cold brews that I think will knock your socks off.
And hey, if they don't have it at your local grocery store you can still buy it online off their website. Although at the time of writing they only sell a 3-pack of their 6-serving version. This will set you back $30, so make sure you like the cold brew before investing in it!
